YES Program Returns! March 23rd: 1st day

On the first day I participate in this programme, I didn't recognize all the people here. I just knew Hadi and Huwaida because they introduced themselves to me =). Then I met with two girls who were the participants of the programme too and we started to know each other.

On the first day, we learnt about values and we were asked to think about our future. We did it individually. In this activity, we were asked to cut pictures that were related to our future then stick it to a manila card. We really enjoyed it. We also learn about the ground rules e.g. confidential, openness, 'i' - statements, non-judgemental and etc. We also practised our skills in solving obstacles. We also learnt and searched about our values.

From this programme, I started to know and realised the values that I had. I learnt the importance of values. I felt excited and enjoyed on the first day because I learnt many things and have new friends =).

Volunteer's corner: Afiq

"This is the first time I volunteered to help the instructors for YES Program and it was a wonderful experience. We were doing Module 1 and there were three new participants with different ideas and feelings. We did a lot of activities on the first day and of course,they thought of great ideas during the activities. They were quite nervous and I was sure that they would not come on the second day!"

Day 2 - Values and Community

The Module 2 participants explored what they can find in their community and made a visit to Pusat Ehsan. They begin to learn about making changes in their community and what would they like their community to be. The response was all about cleanliness and to show more care in our Society.

The New Participants

We have recieved 7 new students and 3 of our previous students has come back to complete their second Module. The fun and learning starts all over again. :)

Module 1:

It was a day filled with fun and practise to get use to the people around them. So we did alot of Ice breaking.

Module 2:

This is the beginning of them learning about their Environment, which includes Family, Friends, Teachers, Schools, Community and the Country as a whole. First day visit was to Kampong Ayer. It was the first time for all the teenagers and there were alot of discussions on the cleanliness of the river.

Saying goodbye and we will always be there for them :)

Module 1 - Final Lessons

In the morning they learned more about friends and what makes a good friend. In the afternoon, was about health and some final lessons on family.

Day 4 - RelationSHIPS (What sinks and what floats)

On this 4th day, we now begin to explore the relationships everyone has and what is the connection between values, behaviors and communication has got to do with relationships. The participants still have fun but now have fully participated in discussions and better understanding about themselves.
